The forest is a source of life, an invaluable treasure of nature. But he has an insidious enemy from which he is defenseless - this is fire. In most cases, the cause of forest fires is the carelessness of those who neglect the rules of fire safety in the forest. A forest fire is an uncontrolled burning of vegetation that spreads over a forest area.
Forest fires, garbage dumps in forests, illegal and ruinous felling for the forest, illegal buildings in forests - all this is a consequence of the careless attitude of man to the forest. In order to preserve forests for yourself and for future generations, you must follow a few simple rules:
- It is forbidden to throw burning matches, cigarette butts in the forest and shake out hot ash from smoking pipes, to use wads from flammable or smoldering materials when hunting, to leave cleaning material oiled or soaked in gasoline, kerosene or other flammable substances in the forest;
- It is forbidden to make fires in the forest;
- Do not burn dry grass;
- Do not leave bottles or glass, which can become incendiary lenses, in the sun-lit places;
- Observe cleanliness, do not leave trash;
- Do not litter forests with household, construction, industrial and other waste;
- Do not burn the grass on land plots directly adjacent to forests, protective and greenery forest plantations.
- It is forbidden to use tractors with faulty flame arresters;
- Be extremely careful with fire in the forest.
It is easy to extinguish a forest fire only at the initial stage of development, when the surrounding forest litter begins to smolder, it is necessary to take measures to extinguish it yourself, fill it with water or cover it with wet earth using the available means at hand (shovel, rake, branches with foliage). But when the fire has already flared up and is advancing on the forest with a wide front, the trees catch fire, it is very difficult to extinguish the fire.
If you find yourself in the vicinity of a fire, immediately warn all nearby people and try to leave the danger area. You need to go out onto the road, a wide clearing, the edge of the forest, to the reservoir. Move should be perpendicular to the direction of fire propagation. If circumstances prevent you from escaping the fire, enter a pond or hide in an open clearing, covering yourself with wet clothes. You need to breathe air near the ground (it is less smoky), covering your mouth and nose with a gauze bandage or a wet rag. After leaving the fire zone, notify the forest or fire brigade by phone "101" or "112" indicating the approximate location of your location and the nature of the fire. REMEMBER - THE FIRE IS STUFFED AND RELAXED! Only strict adherence to fire safety requirements excludes the possibility of fires!
