Prevention of forest fires
Forests are one of the most important resources of Kazakhstan, they are also recreational areas. Fires from a variety of natural and anthropogenic factors have a dominant negative impact on the state and dynamics of forest ecosystems, cause significant material and environmental damage to the state.
Most often, forest fires occur:
- due to the fault of people leaving unextinguished fires or cigarette butts in places of rest, or work performance;
- when burning garbage by the owners of summer cottages and garden plots on the edges of the forest;
- from agricultural burns.
In rare cases, natural causes, such as being struck by lightning, are to blame.
What each person can do:
Be extremely careful with fire in any natural area. To prevent your negligence from causing a forest fire, do the following regulations:
- never throw loose matches or cigarettes, never use pyrotechnics in the forest.
- never set fire to dry grass in fields or clearings in the forest;
- never make a fire in a dry forest.
Before starting a fire, make sure the site is on mineral soil (sand or clay), then scoop up the forest floor from and around the site within a radius of 0.5m.
Fill the fire well before leaving. After that, rake the ash and make sure that there are no smoldering coals under it, if so, fill it again. Do not leave a flooded fire while smoke or steam is coming out of it. Take care of what to fill the fire with in advance.
Remember that protecting the forest from fires is the concern of every person.
If a fire is detected, immediately inform the rescue service on phone 112.
