A former policeman in the Almaty region faces criminal responsibility for the killed Siberian roe deer, the correspondent of Khabar 24 reports. He was caught red-handed by environmental officers during a flight. The hunting season has opened in the region, and with it cases of poaching have become more frequent. The overflights were carried out for three days in the Balkhash region and the deltas of the largest rivers of southeastern Kazakhstan. The results are impressive: a large number of weapons and prohibited fishing gear were seized. Alakol, Balkhash, the deltas of the Karatal and Lepsy rivers - these remote from civilization and very picturesque places in the southeastern part of the country have always attracted hunters and fishermen. October is the most favorable season for fishing: dry and warm during the day, frosty in the morning. The number of animals and birds is high, over the summer the young have grown stronger. But poaching has always been a concomitant factor in such conditions. In our country, most often it is hunting without permission and the use of unregistered weapons, and on water bodies - the use of prohibited fishing gear. And, unfortunately, there are many such facts. Grigory Bedenko, correspondent: - Aviation in the fight against poaching in the Balkhash region is very effective. The territories here are huge and rich in biological resources. But to inspect them all using only ground transportation, you need to spend several days. With the help of a helicopter, this can be done literally in a matter of hours. Sarkand region. An off-road vehicle with a trailer was seen from the helicopter. Inside the car there is a whole arsenal of uncovered weapons. There is even a 308-caliber Vepr carbine with a powerful telescopic sight. A bag with the carcass of a killed wild animal was found in the trailer. Apparently, this is a roe deer. The owner of the car and the trunks is a former local police officer. He does not have a hunting permit. This is already a criminal case.
Baglan Rymzhanov, inspector of the environmental police of the UMPS in the Almaty region:
- In two days we have about 15 violations, it turns out. For the first time 12 violations and today 3 violations. One criminal case under Article 337, I think, will be initiated. Since if they prove that it is a roe deer carcass, then they will initiate a criminal case. Specialists of the environmental departments managed to inspect almost the entire Balkhash-Alakol basin by helicopter. Such flights during the poaching season are carried out by Kazavialesoohrana in partnership with Kazaviaspas. A helicopter always arrives unexpectedly for poachers. In addition, the hunters themselves and the vehicles they use are very clearly visible from a height. Locals usually go on illegal hunting with weapons for which there is no document. They say that the regional police have already accumulated so many old Berdan boots that it is possible to open a museum. Chinese disposable monofilament nets have been found on Balkhash near Karashagan. Despite all the prohibitions, they are used by both poachers and fishermen who have a license. Even large farms do not hesitate to use illegal fishing gear. The nets are confiscated and burned. But their number in the country is not decreasing. According to information from nature protection agencies, stakeholders have learned how to overcome customs bans. Chinese networks are being shaped like building materials. Fish, birds and even mammals, entangled with such nets, in most cases do not survive.
Rinat Kumashev, head of the department of the Almaty thermal inspection of forestry and wildlife:
- Since the beginning of the year, the employees of the thermal inspection have revealed 282 offenses in the field of fisheries. Of these, 37 persons were referred to the court with materials. Also, the inspection officers revealed gross violations of fishing rules, namely, fishing with prohibited tools - electric current. According to these materials, three criminal cases were initiated. At the moment, decisions have been made in two cases. The offenders received various criminal sentences.
According to Rinat Kumashev, fines for damage to fish resources amounted to almost 18 million tenge. The most difficult situation with poaching is in the Sarkand and Alakol regions. Here, in fact, fish is caught on an industrial scale without any permits.
