The Eurocopter EC 145 is a multi-purpose helicopter created by the Franco-German concern Eurocopter. The helicopter was created on the basis of the Eurocopter/Kawasaki VK 117 C-1 model and originally bore the designation VK 117C-2. The new helicopter has a more spacious cabin and a larger take-off weight. The forward part of the fuselage was designed anew (taking into account developments in EU 135), which allowed to reduce aerodynamic drag and improve visibility for the crew. This helicopter is capable of delivering up to 9 paratroopers-firefighters and 300 kg of cargo and fire extinguishing equipment to the fire site, as well as up to a ton of water on an external suspension.

On April 11, 2023, a fire was discovered on the territory of the 28th quarter of the Lebedinsky forestry of the Akkolsky KSU. Paratroopers-firefighters of the Akmola aviation department and employees of the ground forest guard with equipment were sent to the place of the fire to extinguish the fire and prevent its further spread. Thanks to the coordinated actions of all services, the fire was localized.

On April 10, 2023, a meeting was held in the city of Ridder to prepare for the fire season. During the meeting, it was recommended:

To provide round-the-clock duty to the republican state institution "West Altai Nature Reserve", the municipal state institution "Ridder Forestry" and the municipal state institution "Fir Forestry";
Check the availability of technical means;
Continue conducting exercises and fire-fighting training according to the plan approved by the heads of organizations;
