The fifth – highest class of fire danger has been declared in the Almaty region. It involves daily triple patrolling of specially protected natural areas, Khabar 24 reports. In the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau, the growing season ends, grass and shrubs dry up. An accidental fire in these places can spread to the territory of the state forest fund. Taking into account the current situation, specialists of the southern branch of Kazavialesookhrana conducted training with the use of helicopter technology. The MI-8 AMT helicopter takes off from Boraldai suburban airfield to one of the large lakes located northwest of Almaty. Here, Kazavialesoohrana has an improvised landfill. Aerial firefighters must work out a landing in a remote area from the aircraft. When descending, a special roller device is used. The paratrooper chooses the mode according to his own weight. The cable made of synthetic material can withstand a load of 900 kilograms. But the most difficult thing is to cope psychologically with the situation. Not everyone is able to easily step into the void from the height of a 16-storey building.
Sergey Polyakov, Head of Aviation and fire service of RSE "Kazavialesoohrana":
- In the republic as a whole, we can say so, the whole forestry sector is going through the most difficult difficult period. September-October will be the maximum of burning in the forests, steppe fires are spreading now. Adds to the hassle - cleaning is now underway in the fields. Very often there are cases of fire in farms that are cleaning. At first it is a steppe fire, then it enters the forests. The fire season this year was very difficult. In general, about 600 wildfires were recorded in the republic. The most tense situation has developed in the east of the country, where ribbon pine forests are located. Fires occurred here almost every day as a result of dry thunderstorms.
Grigory Bedenko, correspondent:
- Such trainings are very important for Kazaviaspas helicopter pilots. The crews of these vehicles are involved in extinguishing the most difficult fires. And without them today it is impossible to imagine the effective work of the emergency service. The second part of the training is the delivery of water to the place of ignition and extinguishing the fire with the help of a helicopter spillway device. The water is discharged by a specialist of Kazavialesookhrana, who is on board the helicopter. He chooses the speed and altitude of the approach himself. The point of the training is for the crew to "shoot" at the source of the fire. The spillway device is small. Its maximum capacity is 5 tons. It is necessary to cover the fire very accurately.
Yakupzhan Ibragimov, pilot-observer of the RSE "Kazavialesoohrana":
- To date, 15 forest fires have occurred in the protected area in the Almaty region. Of these, fires were mainly on the plains, in floodplain forests – towards Bakanas, along the Karatal, along the Ili River. According to the national Park – this year we had 2 forest fires. But they were discovered in time and extinguished in small areas in time, together with the forces of the amphibious ground guard and fire protection. The fire-hazardous period in the south-east of Kazakhstan will continue throughout September and most of October. There were also periods when natural fires for various reasons lasted literally until the first snow.
